Pregnant C Section

For some women who are pregnant c section issues are a concern. A c section is the delivery of a baby using a surgical procedure. The birthing process is complex and when surgery is added there is a higher risk of complications occurring. The possible complications include infection, bleeding, and unintended injuries incurred during surgery such as nicking the bladder. In addition the c section will raise the risk of a women developing placenta previa and placenta accrete during a future pregnancy. Of course a c section can be planned or unplanned and deciding if it is the right choice is based on the advice you get from your doctor. Planned c sections can be suggested for both right and wrong reasons. A c section is recommended when women are carrying more than one baby or there is a high probability the mother or baby will be injured during a vaginal birth to name just a couple of reasons. An unplanned c-section may be necessary if the birthing process goes awry and the baby stops moving or the heart begins to race or the placenta begins to separate from the uterine wall cutting off the baby's oxygen supply. The doctor has to make a quick life or death decision in some cases based on experience.
