When it comes to pain, c section deliveries can cause significant pain. This is a major abdominal surgical procedure and as such it can lead to numerous complications associated with any type of surgery. This includes excessive bleeding, infection and other complications due to anesthesia. There are a variety of forms of cesarean delivery, or c sections. In some emergency situations, it becomes necessary to utilize this procedure in a last minute decision. For example, should a doctor notice that the baby is in distress, perhaps from the umbilical cord being wrapped around its neck, a doctor can have a surgical outfit prepped immediately and deliver the child through a c section. Intense pain is rare and should be reported to the doctor immediately.
