Cerebral Palsy Occupational Therapy

Cerebral palsy occupational therapy utilizes specific activities in order to treat physical and psychiatric conditions associated with the medical condition. This type of therapy may be done on all ages and may help to improve the individual's ability to function throughout the day. The goal of this type of therapy is to improve the overall ability to function with normal, day-to-day tasks. With specialized therapists, exercises and skills are taught in such a way as to improve physical skills so that the individual is able to function easier and therefore can become at least somewhat independent. The key factor to make this form of therapy work is to use the individual's strengths to help them to handle their limitations.
