Cerebral Palsy Center

There are many places parents can turn to in order to get help when their child is diagnosed with cerebral palsy. There's a wealth of information and a number of places to find special programs to assist children and adults with cerebral palsy. For example, the UCLA medical center has a cerebral palsy center called the UCLA/Orthopaedic Hospital Center for Cerebral Palsy. There are also national organizations providing a wealth of information such as the United Cerebral Palsy organization. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke is dedicated to researching causes and treatments of all neurological diseases including cerebral palsy while also providing easy access to information. This organization funds many of the research and treatments centers around the country through grants. It is important to understand that there are different treatment methods for improving a child's capabilities and the result is that many can develop enough muscle or motor skills to lead an almost normal life.
