Celebral Palsy

The term, celebral palsy, more commonly known as cerebral palsy, is a term associated with a number of conditions in which there is a chronic movement or posture disorder in the individual. The cerebral portion of the name refers to the brain itself. The second portion, palsy, stems from a physical disorder. For example, the individual may suffer from a lack of muscle control. The condition is not caused by problems within those muscle groups, though, nor in the nerves of the body. Rather, the condition is caused by the brain's inability to control those aspects of the body. This condition may be caused by injury, such as an injury that occurs during birth, or can be caused by other types of damage to the brain.
